Our children deserve a safe space to learn and grow. But cybercrime and bullying are casting a shadow on their education. Family Joy International is fighting back, and we need your help.

The Challenge: A Growing Threat

Nigerian schoolchildren are facing a double threat:

Participation in Cybercrime: Children now participate in advance fee fraud (419). This could lead to severe legal consequences, including fines, imprisonment, and criminal records.
Victimization of Cybercrime: Children are vulnerable to online predators, scams, and inappropriate content.

These issues can have a devastating impact on a child’s education.

What we do

Charity & Emergencies

Charitable initiatives and emergency support systems play a crucial role in preventing cybercrimes and bullying among school children. By fostering a supportive and educational environment, charities can offer resources and programs that teach digital responsibility and empathy

For instance, they can sponsor workshops that educate children on the consequences of cyberbullying and cybercrimes, both legally and emotionally. Additionally, charities can provide emergency support for victims, such as counselling services and helplines, creating a safety net that encourages reporting and intervention. Schools can collaborate with charitable organizations to implement comprehensive anti-bullying policies and create a culture of respect and kindness online. This multi-faceted approach not only addresses the immediate needs of those affected but also works towards cultivating a generation of digitally literate and responsible citizens. Organizations like UNICEF and various government agencies offer resources and strategies to combat cyberbullying, which can be integrated into charity programs for a more robust solution.

Training & Empowerment
